A/R: Man arrested for buying Voters ID Cards in Asawase

A Police Patrol Team monitoring the ongoing general elections in Asawasi Constituency in the Ashanti Region have arrest a man identified as Aminu for buying 16 Voters ID Cards for GHC30 each.

According to reports, the man was influencing Voters who were coming to cast their votes at Aboabo M/A Primary School Polling Station to exchange their Voters ID Cards with GHC30

Aminu was arrested by party supporters and party agents when the case was reported by one voter who Aminu tried to influence.

Tension started mounting when some supporters at the polling station attempted to attack Aminu when he was arrested.

it took the timely intervention of former Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Asokore Mampong Hon Nurudeen Hamidan to save Aminu from being lynched.

The former Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Asokore Mampong Municipal Assembly Hon Nurudeen Hamidan told Pure FM’s Osei Kwadwo that “I have called the Police and they are on their way coming and we will hand him over to the police”.

Aminu has been picked up by the police to assist with investigations.
