Afia Pokuaa Says Removing Of Road Tolls & Implementing E-LEVY Is A Great Idea

Afia Pokuaa (Vim Lady) has labelled replacing road tolls with the E-Levy as a smart move by the government of Ghana.
Finance minister, Hon. Ken Ofori Atta while reading the 2022 budget indicated that the government plans to remove road tolls and replace them with the E-Levy.
The E-Levy simply means Electronic Levy and it would be charged on all electronic transactions including mobile money and bank transactions. This has come to replace the road tolls that are being collected on the road.
In her reaction, the journalist stated that the move was a smart move and it is the smartest thinking since former finance minister, Baah Wiredu introduced the talk time tax.
However, she had a problem stating that whether these monies would be used for development is something she doubts.
Taking to her personal social media handle on the popular social media platform, Facebook, she wrote;
“I think the idea to remove road tolls and replace them with E-LEVY is one of the SMARTEST thinking since Baah Wiredu introduced Talk Time Tax.
But whether the money will be used for development or not, I have my doubt.
