Your resilience is admirable – Mahama congratulates Joe Biden

Former President John Dramani Mahama has congratulated US president-elect Joe Biden, saying that his resilience is admirable.

In a short congratulatory message shared on social media, Mr Mahama, who is the presidential candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), stressed that it took Mr Biden sheer grit and determination for him to win the presidency.

Mr Mahama added that he looked forward to working with Joe Biden for the mutual benefit of the US and Ghana and the world at large

“Congratulations US President-elect Joe Biden. Your resilience is admirable. It’s taken sheer grit and determination to chalk this victory. I look forward to us working together for the mutual benefit of our two countries and for a better world that ensures social justice and sustainable development,” he said in a post on his Facebook page sighted by MyNewsGh.com

Commenting on Kamala Harris, Vice President-elect of the US, Mr Mahama praised her for not only breaking the glass ceiling but punching a big hole in it.

“The election of incoming VP Kamala Harris has not only shattered the glass ceiling but punched a big hole in that will inspire the world to follow these footprints of inclusion representation and unity,” he noted.

Joe Biden beat incumbent President Donald J. Trump in a suspense filled elections.  Mr Trump, who is yet to concede, has alleged that election irregularities won the election for Mr Biden.
