I have clear strategy on how to curb rising food prices – Mahama

John Dramani Mahama, the flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has shared his plan to address the escalating food prices in Ghana. In a Facebook post, the former president expressed confidence in his strategy, stating, “I am fully aware of what needs to be done to stop the continuous rise in food and other essential commodity prices, which stems from the economic mismanagement of the Akufo-Addo and Bawumia administration.”

Mahama emphasized the importance of easing the economic burden on Ghanaians and restoring price stability. He referred to key policies in the NDC’s “Resetting Ghana” manifesto aimed at revitalizing the economy and setting it on a path for growth.

These measures include abolishing six stringent taxes, reforming the unfair VAT system, utilizing the Price Stabilization and Recovery Levy on fuel, introducing a specialized pension scheme, and launching a “Big Push” initiative with a 10 billion cedi investment to boost infrastructure development.
