Presidential results for each region will be separately announced – EC

Dr. Eric Bossman Asare, Deputy Chairperson of the Electoral Commission (EC), has revealed that the EC will declare the presidential election results from all 16 regions individually before announcing the overall national results in the upcoming December 7 elections. This step, according to Dr. Bossman Asare, is aimed at promoting transparency throughout the electoral process.

Speaking at the launch of the Coalition of Domestic Election Observers (CODEO) Election Monitoring System, Dr. Bossman Asare explained that the election results from polling stations will first be compiled at the constituency collation centers and then forwarded to regional collation centers. The EC will then make public the results from each region before combining them to declare the national results.

This process, he stated, ensures that both the public and political parties are fully informed throughout the collation process, reinforcing the EC’s dedication to a free and fair election. He also noted that all political parties are already aware of this plan, ensuring they are aligned with the approach.
