Murder arrests over death of toddler in Northern Ireland

Police in Northern Ireland have arrested three individuals on suspicion of murder following the tragic death of a toddler, Tavia Michella Ximenes Da Costa, aged 23 months. The Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) was alerted to the sudden death in Dungannon on Sunday morning. Despite efforts by officers and ambulance crews, Tavia was pronounced dead at the scene.

After a post-mortem examination, authorities are treating her death as a murder. Those arrested include two women, aged 21 and 24, and a 29-year-old man, who remain in custody.
Detective Chief Inspector Anthony Kelly expressed deep sympathy for Tavia’s family, acknowledging the devastating impact of her loss. The police are urging anyone with relevant information to come forward to aid in the investigation.
