The Ministry of National Security has refuted claims made by The Herald newspaper alleging its involvement in the abduction of Sylvia Baah, the Airport Services Manager of Emirates Airlines at Kotoka International Airport.
In a statement released on Monday, November 25, the Ministry categorically denied the involvement of its officers or those of the National Intelligence Bureau (NIB) in the incident, which reportedly occurred at Baah’s residence in Accra on Thursday, November 21.
The Ministry assured the public that it has launched an investigation into the alleged abduction and promised that any individuals found culpable will be prosecuted. It urged the public to disregard the claims made in The Herald, describing them as misleading.
Meanwhile, the Ghana Police Service, which began investigating the case on November 22, announced on November 23 that Baah had been successfully rescued and reunited with her family.
Law enforcement authorities stated that efforts are underway to apprehend the suspects and reaffirmed their commitment to ensuring justice is served.
The Ministry emphasized the importance of verifying such allegations to prevent unwarranted public fear and urged citizens to rely on official updates from law enforcement agencies.
