EC identifies shortfalls in Ballot Papers for Volta Region constituencies

The Electoral Commission (EC) has identified discrepancies in the supply of Presidential and Parliamentary ballot papers for several constituencies in the Volta Region, including Keta, Ketu North, Ho Central, Hohoe, and Ho West. This issue comes ahead of the impending national elections and has prompted swift action by the Commission.

In a communication to representatives of all presidential candidates, the EC outlined measures to address the shortfall, including the printing of additional ballot papers at Acts Commercials Printing House in Accra. To uphold transparency, the EC has invited political parties and independent presidential candidates to delegate two representatives each to observe the printing process.

The observation session is scheduled to take place on Friday, November 29, 2024, at 10:00 am. The Commission has emphasized its commitment to ensuring that the election process remains credible and smooth despite the logistical challenges.

Samuel Tettey, the EC’s Deputy Chairman of Operations, reassured the public of the Commission’s diligence in resolving the issue. He highlighted the EC’s dedication to maintaining accuracy and fairness in all aspects of the electoral process.

This proactive approach by the EC underscores its efforts to preserve trust and integrity in Ghana’s democratic system as the nation prepares for a pivotal election.
