Koforidua: Police resolve incident involving broken seal on electoral material bag
The Ghana Police Service has successfully addressed concerns surrounding a broken seal on an electoral material bag in Koforidua, Eastern Region. The incident, which initially raised alarm, involved a bag meant for distribution to a constituency in the area.
In a statement released on Thursday, the Police clarified that the broken seal was discovered during routine handling as the bags were being moved from the armoury. It was determined that the seal had come off due to the packing and unpacking process.
Subsequent investigations by the Electoral Commission (EC), in collaboration with representatives of political parties, confirmed that the bag’s contents remained untouched and intact. The statement noted that the broken seal was recovered, and stakeholders, including EC officials and political party representatives, verified the integrity of the materials.
