Ghana Introduces Visa-On-Arrival For December In GH 2024

In a bid to position Ghana as a top destination for the festive season, the government has waived the pre-approval visa requirement for travelers visiting the country from December 1, 2024, to January 15, 2025. During this period, visitors can easily obtain visas upon arrival, simplifying the travel process significantly.

This policy is part of the “Beyond the Return” initiative aimed at promoting international travel to Ghana. It coincides with the “December in GH” campaign, which highlights the nation’s rich culture, vibrant festivals, and exciting holiday events, expected to draw a significant influx of tourists.

Minister of Transport Kwaku Ofori Asiamah has instructed airlines to update their systems promptly to reflect the policy, ensuring smooth travel experiences for visitors. Meanwhile, Akwasi Agyeman, CEO of the Ghana Tourism Authority, encouraged travelers to seize the opportunity to explore Ghana during this festive season.

“We invite everyone to come and immerse themselves in the magic of ‘December in GH’ celebrations. It’s a chance to experience the best of Ghana,” Agyeman said.

This initiative aims to showcase Ghana’s unique blend of heritage, culture, and hospitality, making it a preferred holiday destination.
