Voters register in White truck in viral video not ours – EC
The Electoral Commission (EC) has dismissed a viral video on social media alleging the transport of a supposed Voters Register for Ahafo Ano 1 and 2 in a white pick-up truck.
In a statement, the EC clarified that the register shown in the video is not its official document, emphasizing that EC registers are black and white, unlike the colored version in the footage. The Commission also explained that while political parties receive the final register, they are responsible for printing their copies for their agents.
The EC highlighted that the pick-up truck in the video does not belong to the Commission and described the video as an attempt to sow mistrust in its operations.
Deputy Chairman Samuel Tettey has called on the police to investigate the incident, noting that the truck’s visible registration number could aid in identifying those involved. The public has been urged to disregard the misleading video.
