We’ll not be a disruptive opposition – Bawumia

Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has assured Ghanaians that his party will collaborate constructively with the newly elected administration, led by the National Democratic Congress (NDC). In his address following the NDC’s provisional victory in the 2024 general elections, Dr. Bawumia emphasized the NPP’s commitment to advancing Ghana’s democratic values.

He stated that the NPP, while holding the government accountable, will avoid obstructive behavior, ensuring its parliamentary members contribute meaningfully to policy discussions and governance. Dr. Bawumia expressed his respect for the electorate’s decision and reiterated the importance of unity in addressing the country’s challenges.

This marks a significant moment in Ghana’s democratic tradition, as the peaceful concession underscores the country’s commitment to democratic principles and political maturity.
