An Accra Circuit Court has issued a bench warrant for the arrest of Alex Nanaba Amoako, 37, for allegedly defrauding 341 individuals of GH¢192,500 under the guise of securing them recruitment into Ghana’s security agencies.
Amoako reportedly collected payments ranging from GH¢3,000 to GH¢10,000 per person, along with additional fees for medical examinations. Despite these payments, no enlistments occurred.
The prosecution revealed that Amoako admitted receiving the funds but claimed to have passed the money to an associate, Appiah Kubi, who is still at large.
The court, presided over by Judge Samuel Bright Acquah, granted the warrant after Amoako failed to appear. The case has been adjourned to January 28, 2025. Police investigations are ongoing.
