Parliamentary Appointments Committee to Vet Five Ministerial Nominees Today

Accra, Ghana – January 28, 2025 – The Appointments Committee of Parliament will commence the vetting of five ministerial nominees today, a key step in approving individuals selected by President John Dramani Mahama for critical government positions.

The vetting sessions, which will begin at 9:00 am, are scheduled as follows:

  • 9:00 am – Dr. Edward Kofi Omane Boamah, Minister-designate for Defence.
  • 11:00 am – Emmanuel Kwadwo Agyekum, MP, Minister-designate for State in Charge of Special Initiatives.
  • 1:00 pm – Adjei Kenneth Gilbert, Minister-designate for Works, Housing, and Water Resources.
  • 3:00 pm – Linda Obenewaa Akweley Ocloo, MP, Minister-designate for the Greater Accra Region.
  • 5:00 pm – Charity Gardiner, Minister-designate for the Ahafo Region.

The vetting sessions aim to evaluate the nominees’ qualifications, competencies, and readiness to assume their designated roles. This process is essential in shaping the leadership of President Mahama’s administration and ensuring effective governance.
