Two passengers were killed, and a bus was burnt to ashes in a deadly attack on travelers in Walewale.
The bus, traveling from Kumasi to Garu, was ambushed by gunmen after making a stop in front of the ADB Bank in Walewale.
The attack is believed to be linked to the ongoing Chieftaincy conflict in Bawku. It follows a similar incident on February 11, 2025, where three passengers were killed, and their bus was set ablaze near Wulugu on the Bolgatanga-Tamale highway.
In a related development, three more people were killed in a gun battle in Bawku on February 12, further escalating tensions in the area.
The latest killings bring the total death toll in the conflict to 54 since its resurgence in October 2024.
