Former Ashanti Regional Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Yaw Owusu Obimpeh, has been elected as the Ashanti Regional representative to the Council of State, securing a decisive victory with 49 votes.

The election, which took place on Monday, February 17, 2025, saw Obimpeh leading by a significant margin.
