
Akyem Boadua, Eastern Region – March 7, 2025 – Eight people have lost their lives, and six others sustained injuries in a tragic road accident at Akyem Boadua in the Eastern Region.
The accident, which occurred in the early hours of Friday, involved a vehicle traveling from Kade to Accra. According to reports, the driver, who was unfamiliar with the route, was speeding excessively despite repeated pleas from passengers to slow down.
Crash Details
Eyewitnesses say the accident happened shortly after the vehicle passed Adankrono and approached Pentemtwam. The bushy nature of the road reportedly obstructed visibility, causing the driver to lose control of the vehicle.
The vehicle somersaulted seven times before finally coming to a halt.
- Five people died on the spot
- Three others succumbed to their injuries at the hospital
- Six passengers sustained injuries and are receiving treatment
Shockingly, the driver fled the scene immediately after the accident, leaving behind the injured victims.
Authorities Investigating
Local authorities and emergency responders arrived at the scene to transport the injured to a nearby hospital. Police have launched a manhunt for the driver, who is currently on the run.
Residents and road safety advocates are calling for stricter enforcement of traffic laws to prevent such tragedies.
