Tiwa Savage Explains Why She Won’t Sign Upcoming Artistes

Lagos, Nigeria – March 7, 2025 – Nigerian music star Tiwa Savage has opened up about her decision not to sign upcoming artistes, citing the stress and responsibility that comes with managing musicians.
In an interview with Forbes Africa, the Water and Garri hitmaker explained that while many have urged her to mentor young talents, she does not feel equipped to handle the unpredictable nature of artistes, especially in the age of social media.
“I Lack the Patience to Manage Artistes”
Tiwa Savage noted that mentoring artistes requires patience and dedication, qualities she admits she does not possess in the managerial sense.
“People think it’s easy, but artistes can be unpredictable. I could go to sleep and wake up to find my signee trending for the wrong reasons,” she humorously stated.
A Music School Instead of a Record Label
Rather than running a record label, the 45-year-old singer revealed plans to establish a music school. The institution will provide aspiring musicians with the necessary skills and training before they sign with established record labels capable of guiding their careers.
Her revelation has sparked mixed reactions among fans, with some supporting her decision while others believe she could still play a major role in shaping the careers of young musicians.
