New IGP Christian Tetteh Yohuno Pledges Professionalism and Integrity

Accra, March 14, 2025 – The newly sworn-in Inspector General of Police (IGP), Christian Tetteh Yohuno, has vowed to uphold the values and traditions of the Ghana Police Service, reinforcing integrity and professionalism within the force.
His commitment was made during his official swearing-in ceremony at Jubilee House on Friday, March 14, presided over by President John Dramani Mahama.
Commitment to Reform and Discipline
In his acceptance speech, IGP Yohuno outlined his vision to modernize the police service while maintaining the traditions that have shaped it for generations. He emphasized discipline, respect for seniority, professionalism, transparency, accountability, and fairness as the guiding principles of his administration.
“In alignment with the transformation and modernization of the service, I pledge to uphold the values, traditions, and culture of the Ghana Police Service in accordance with the resetting agenda of the President. My administration will focus on renewing attitudes and performance,” he stated.
A Renewed Focus on Service Delivery
IGP Yohuno assured the President, government officials, and the Ghanaian public that his leadership would be firm, fair, and service-driven. His tenure aims to rebuild public trust and strengthen security operations nationwide.
His appointment follows the departure of former IGP Dr. George Akuffo Dampare, who served from 2021 to 2025.
