Public Reaction and Debate

The reshuffle has sparked discussions over its impact on the military’s command structure. Critics, including Assin South MP John Ntim Fordjour, argue that the move is costly and weakens morale, as some of the dismissed officers had several years before retirement.

However, government officials insist that the changes are part of efforts to strengthen Ghana’s defence framework.

The newly appointed commanders are expected to assume office officially on March 24, 2025.
