Attorney General Warns Banks Against Moving Kwabena Adu Boahene’s Assets

Accra, March 24, 2025 – The Attorney-General and Minister of Justice, Dr. Dominic Ayine, has issued a stern warning to banks and financial institutions against moving funds or assets linked to Kwabena Adu Boahene, the former Director-General of the National Signals Bureau (NSB), who was arrested on March 20, 2025, over allegations of financial misconduct.

Speaking at a press conference on Monday, Dr. Ayine disclosed that the Financial Intelligence Centre (FIC) is closely monitoring all accounts belonging to Adu Boahene and his wife. He cautioned banks that any unauthorized transactions from these accounts would result in legal action.

Key Highlights from the Attorney General’s Address:

  • Strict Financial Monitoring: All financial institutions dealing with Adu Boahene must halt all transactions involving his assets.
  • Consequences for Non-Compliance: Bank managers and employees involved in wire transfers or cash withdrawals from his accounts will face arrest and prosecution.
  • Illicit Financial Movements: Authorities have traced large sums of money linked to suspected fraudulent transactions through Advantage Solutions Limited and BNC Communications Bureau Limited.
  • Ten Linked Companies Under Investigation: At least ten companies associated with Adu Boahene and his wife are being investigated for financial misconduct, though their names remain undisclosed for security reasons.
  • Warning to Executives & Employees: Employees and executives of these companies must not attempt to move assets, as authorities are prepared to track, arrest, and prosecute those involved in any fraudulent transactions.

Dr. Ayine assured Ghanaians that the government remains committed to combating financial crimes and ensuring justice is served. Investigations into the $7 million cyber defense system scandal continue, with more revelations expected in the coming weeks.
