MTN Ghana Records Strong Financial Growth in 2024 Amid Economic Challenges
Accra, March 28, 2025 – MTN Ghana has announced a 34.5% growth in total service revenue for 2024, driven by increased mobile data consumption, expanded 4G and 5G coverage, and a surge in Mobile Money (MoMo) transactions.
Key Highlights from MTN Ghana’s 2024 Annual Report:
📈 Service Revenue Growth: 34.5% year-on-year increase.
📡 Data Revenue Surge: Grew by 53.8% to GHS 9.0 billion, fueled by improved network connectivity.
💰 MoMo Revenue Growth: Increased by 54.4%, reaching GHS 4.4 billion.
📉 Economic Challenges: Inflation and currency depreciation remain key risks for 2025.
💵 Dividend Payment: Shareholders to receive 24 pesewas per share on April 16, 2025.
🏦 Total Dividend for 2024: 30.5 pesewas per share, amounting to GHS 4.0 billion (80% of profit after tax).
MTN CEO on Growth & Challenges
Speaking at the 7th Annual General Meeting, MTN Ghana CEO Stephen Blewett emphasized the company’s strategic investments in digital services and network expansion. However, he cautioned that inflation and currency depreciation could impact consumer spending in 2025.
“In response to these challenges, MTN Ghana will actively pursue cost efficiencies and maintain spending discipline to mitigate inflationary effects,” he stated.
Dividend Payout for Shareholders
🔹 Final Dividend: 24 pesewas per share (April 16, 2025).
🔹 Total 2024 Dividend: 30.5 pesewas per share.
🔹 Total Payout: GHS 4.0 billion, marking a 35.6% increase compared to 2023.
