DRIP Coordinator Issues Ultimatum for Rev. Ntim Fordjour’s Surrender to NIB

📍 Accra, Ghana – April 10, 2025 – The National Coordinator for the District Road Improvement Programme (DRIP), Nii Lantey Vanderpuye, has issued a strict deadline for Minority Leader, Alexander Afenyo-Markin, to present Rev. John Ntim Fordjour to the National Intelligence Bureau (NIB) by 10:00 a.m. today, April 10.

🚨 Vanderpuye warned that failure to comply would lead to security forces forcibly taking Rev. Fordjour from his residence.

Background: Arrest Attempt and Suspicious Flights Allegation

🔹 On April 9, NIB operatives stormed the residence of Rev. Fordjour to arrest him over allegations he made regarding two suspicious aircraft that landed at Kotoka International Airport, suggesting possible drug trafficking and money laundering.

🔹 However, the operation was suspended without an official explanation after Afenyo-Markin intervened, promising that Fordjour would voluntarily appear for questioning today.

Vanderpuye’s Warning to the Minority Leader

📢 Speaking on Channel One TV’s Breakfast Daily, Vanderpuye stressed that Afenyo-Markin must honor his commitment to ensure Fordjour appears before the NIB.

💬 “Somebody must advise Ntim Fordjour, and I will let Afenyo-Markin exercise that opportunity given him today. By 10:00, he must present Ntim Fordjour for questioning so that we can all have our peace.”

⚠️ He also criticized Minority MPs who gathered at Fordjour’s residence to resist the attempted arrest, calling their actions disrespectful to security services.

🔎 “What they did yesterday was unruly and uncalled for. A police officer can effect an arrest without a warrant. If the Minority Leader does not present him today, we shall plug him from his house,” he declared.
