GoldBod CEO Sammy Gyamfi Meets Chief of Staff Over Viral Cash Video

Accra, May 12, 2025 – The Acting CEO of the Ghana Gold Board (GoldBod), Sammy Gyamfi, was summoned to the Presidency on Monday morning to meet with Chief of Staff Julius Debrah following the public outcry over a viral video that captured him handing cash to evangelist and former fetish priestess Nana Agradaa.

Sources at the Jubilee House confirmed to 3news.com that Gyamfi appeared for the closed-door meeting and exited around 11:00 a.m., looking remorseful and pensive. The engagement comes amid mounting criticism and concerns over ethical standards in public office, especially as the incident appears to contradict President John Mahama’s recently launched Code of Conduct for Public Officials.

The video, which continues to circulate widely on social media, shows Gyamfi giving an undisclosed sum—reportedly in U.S. dollars—to Patricia Oduro Koranteng, popularly known as Nana Agradaa, during a public event. The gesture has provoked backlash from citizens and political observers, questioning both the appropriateness and the source of the funds.

While Gyamfi has since apologized, describing the act as a private gesture of kindness, the matter is being treated with high-level urgency due to its reputational risks and implications for government integrity.
