Obomeng, May 13, 2025 – The Chief of Kwawu Obomeng, Odeefour Effah Opinamang III, has taken a significant step toward improving healthcare access in the Kwadwo Nkansah-Buabeng community, as he officially cut sod for the construction of an ultra-modern clinic in the area.
The initiative, launched on Monday, seeks to address the long-standing absence of healthcare facilities in the community, which has a population of over 2,000 residents.
Speaking at the ceremony, Odeefour Opinamang III described the project as a personal and communal mission aimed at tackling persistent challenges in health service delivery.
“We cannot continue to watch our people suffer due to the lack of a nearby clinic. This project will be completed in three months, and I appeal to the government to come on board with support—particularly in the provision of medical equipment,” he said.
The Kwawu West Municipal Health Director, Celestina Asante, who was also present, commended the chief’s initiative, highlighting its potential to transform health outcomes in the community.
“This is a timely and life-saving intervention. We urge the government and well-meaning individuals to support in equipping the facility to ensure it delivers the quality care the people deserve,” she said.
Residents of the community, who have long endured difficult journeys to access healthcare, expressed joy and gratitude, hailing the project as a dream come true.
The clinic is expected to serve not only Kwadwo Nkansah-Buabeng but also surrounding villages within the Kwawu West Municipality, once completed and fully equipped.
