
Accra, May 15, 2025 – President John Dramani Mahama has appointed Florence Adei Ohene as the Second Deputy Managing Director of Consolidated Bank Ghana Ltd (CBG), further reinforcing the bank’s top-tier leadership with a seasoned professional of global banking experience.
Adei brings over 25 years of local and international banking expertise to the role. She now joins the CBG executive leadership team made up of Managing Director Dr. Naomi Kwetey and Deputy Managing Director Sheila Azuntaba.
Her appointment is expected to enhance the strategic leadership cohesion needed to drive CBG’s bold mission of delivering transformative financial services and exceptional value to Ghanaians at home and abroad.
Prior to her elevation, Florence Adei Ohene led CBG’s International and Diaspora Business, where she played a pivotal role in expanding diaspora engagement and developing strategies tailored to Ghanaians living abroad.
She also boasts an impressive track record from her previous roles at uniBank in Ghana and major U.S. institutions including JP Morgan Chase, PNC Bank, and SunTrust Bank, where she held senior positions spanning Wealth and Investment Management, Corporate Banking, Business Transformation, and Strategy.
Florence holds an MBA from Georgetown University, and two degrees from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), where she graduated Cum Laude. She is also a leading advocate for women’s financial inclusion and empowerment, especially in support of women-owned enterprises.
Her appointment is widely lauded as a significant boost to CBG’s vision of redefining customer-centric banking and supporting Ghana’s inclusive financial growth.
