Ousmane Dembélé Crowned 2025 Ballon d’Or Winner as Barcelona Shines

French winger Ousmane Dembélé claimed football’s top individual prize at the 2025 Ballon d’Or Awards in Paris, edging out Barcelona’s teenage sensation Lamine Yamal for the coveted trophy.

Dembélé, who has been instrumental for Paris Saint-Germain, topped the rankings ahead of Vitinha (PSG), Mohamed Salah (Liverpool), and Raphinha (Barcelona), rounding off the top five.

Barcelona’s Dominance

Despite missing out on the men’s crown, FC Barcelona had a remarkable night.

  • Aitana Bonmatí won her third consecutive Women’s Ballon d’Or, cementing her status as the best female footballer in the world after victories in 2023 and 2024.
  • Rising star Lamine Yamal secured the Kopa Trophy for the second straight year, awarded to the best young player under 21.
  • Vicky López ensured a double win for the club’s women’s side by taking home the Women’s Kopa Award.

Coaching Excellence

The Johan Cruyff Award for Coach of the Year went to Sarina Wiegman, head coach of the England Women’s National Team, and Luis Enrique, manager of Paris Saint-Germain, recognizing their leadership and tactical brilliance over the past season.

The ceremony once again highlighted the dominance of Barcelona’s football philosophy on both the men’s and women’s game, while also celebrating PSG’s breakthrough with Dembélé’s long-awaited recognition at the pinnacle of world football.
