At least four persons are in critical condition following a gas explosion that occurred opposite the Sanbra Hotel at Adum in the Kumasi Metropolis on Wednesday morning, September 24, 2025.
The blast, which happened around 5:50 a.m., reportedly occurred while a food vendor and her workers were preparing meals for sale.
Eyewitnesses recounted hearing a loud explosion before rushing to the scene, where they discovered the victims with severe burns. The injured were immediately transported to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital for emergency medical care.
The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) has since commenced investigations to determine the exact cause of the explosion.
