Kofi Kinaata Credits Asantehene’s Endorsement for Boosting His Popularity in Kumasi
Ghanaian highlife sensation Kofi Kinaata has revealed that Kumasi has emerged as one of his strongest fan bases following a powerful public endorsement from the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.
Speaking in an interview with NY DJ on BTM Afrika, the multiple award-winning musician said the royal acknowledgment significantly elevated his brand, resulting in increased streaming numbers, a surge in social media following, and invitations to major corporate events.
“Kumasi is becoming a hotspot for me, especially since the endorsement came. The endorsement did a lot for me. It brought in some corporate shows, and my numbers also increased,” Kinaata said.
The Asantehene, during a Ghana Bar Association event in September 2024, publicly praised Kinaata’s inspirational hit song ‘Susuka’, commending its profound message of gratitude and wisdom.
Otumfuo Osei Tutu II highlighted the track as a reminder of the importance of appreciating life’s blessings and urged Ghanaians to uphold values of thankfulness and contentment through local music.
