Tension has gripped Sampa in the Bono Region after a group of masked gunmen reportedly stormed parts of the township on Sunday afternoon, opening fire during what sources describe as a violent clash between rival groups.
Tragically, a police officer has been confirmed dead following the shooting. Details surrounding the incident remain unclear, but eyewitnesses say the exchange of gunfire caused chaos, forcing residents to flee for safety.
Security has since been tightened across the area, with additional police and military personnel deployed to restore calm and prevent further escalation.
The Ghana Police Service is yet to issue an official statement on the incident as investigations continue into the cause of the violence and the identity of the attackers.
