NIA to Begin Issuing Ghana Cards to Children Aged 6–14 from October 6

The National Identification Authority (NIA) has announced that it will begin issuing Ghana Cards to children aged 6 to 14 years starting Monday, October 6, 2025.

According to the Authority, the exercise will cover children who have already registered and will initially take place in 56 districts across the country. The cards will be distributed at the same schools where the children were registered.

Verification and Collection Requirements

To complete the process, each child must be physically present and accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. The accompanying adult must also present the registration receipt (Form A) issued on the day of registration.

The NIA assured the public that all backlogs of unprinted Ghana Cards have been cleared, adding that the remaining districts will be covered in the coming days.

New Registration Phase Coming Soon

The Authority also revealed that further details on new registration for children within the 6–14 age group will be announced soon.

Public Cooperation Urged

The NIA urged all parents and guardians to cooperate fully to ensure a smooth and efficient issuance process.
