President Mahama to Open Stakeholder Education Review Conference in February 2025

Accra, January 25, 2025 – President John Dramani Mahama will inaugurate the highly anticipated Stakeholder Education Review Conference in mid-February 2025, according to Education Minister Haruna Iddrisu.
The conference seeks to evaluate Ghana’s education system and propose strategies to enhance equity, inclusivity, and the development of a competitive workforce.
Announcement Coincides with International Day of Education
Speaking at a press briefing on January 24 to mark International Day of Education, Minister Iddrisu highlighted the global theme: “Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Education: Preserving Human Agency in a World of Automation.”
He noted the profound impact of AI on reshaping education, particularly in personalizing learning, automating tasks, and expanding access to underserved communities. The Minister emphasized the need for partnerships to bridge gaps in AI infrastructure and foster inclusivity through adaptive technologies.
Vision for Education in the AI Era
The Minister outlined several priorities:
- Empowering Educators: Teachers must create inclusive classrooms and design curricula that incorporate digital literacy, AI ethics, and critical thinking.
- Infrastructure Development: Expansion of fiber and broadband infrastructure is critical for internet access in all educational institutions.
- Equitable Access: Innovation must ensure that education remains inclusive and responsive to diverse learning needs.
“We cannot prepare for a digital future without stable internet connectivity,” the Minister stressed, urging collaboration with the Ministry of Communication and private sector stakeholders to achieve this goal.
Mr. Iddrisu called on stakeholders to harness innovation, uphold human agency, and ensure education remains a tool for equity and hope. He commended educators and stakeholders for their dedication to transforming learning and supporting national development.
