President Mahama Appoints New Bank of Ghana Board

President John Dramani Mahama has appointed eleven individuals to form the new governing board of the Bank of Ghana (BoG) in line with the Council of State’s advice and the Bank of Ghana Act.

According to a statement issued by the Minister of State in charge of Government Communication, Felix Ofosu Kwakye, on February 26, the new board will be chaired by:

  • Dr. Johnson Pandit Asiama, Governor of the Bank of Ghana (Chairman)
  • Dr. Zakari Mumuni, Deputy Governor (Vice-Chairman)

The board also includes:

  1. Isaac Adongo – Member of Parliament for Bolgatanga Central
  2. Thomas Nyarko Ampem – Deputy Finance Minister Nominee
  3. Nana Akua Ayivora
  4. Emma Akua Bulley
  5. Dr. Stephen Senyo Sapati
  6. Joseph W. Asamoah
  7. Kizzita Mensah
  8. Beatrice Feehi Annangfio
  9. Evelyn Naa Checher Kwatia
  10. Mr. Augustine Fritz Gockel

The formation of this board follows the swearing-in of Dr. Asiama and Dr. Mumuni at the Jubilee House on February 25 by President Mahama.
