SONA: I solve challenges; my style is not to lament and shift blame – Mahama

Accra, Ghana – February 27, 2025

President John Dramani Mahama has reaffirmed his commitment to addressing Ghana’s pressing challenges, assuring Ghanaians that he will focus on practical solutions rather than shifting blame.

Delivering his first State of the Nation Address (SONA) of his second term, Mahama acknowledged the economic difficulties but emphasized his resolve to work hard to overcome them.

“It is not my style to lament and shift blame when confronted with challenges. My approach is to accept challenges and work hard to resolve them. Indeed, this is precisely what the people of Ghana elect me to do.”

The President recognized public expectations following his renewed mandate, stating that he fully understands the responsibility placed on him.

“I have therefore not come here to lament on the state of our country, though there is much to lament about. I understand why I was elected with such high voter confidence, and that is to solve Ghana’s problems.”

Mahama’s address signals a hands-on approach to tackling the economic crisis, unemployment, and infrastructure deficits, as he seeks to restore stability and growth to the nation.
