Ghanaian business mogul Ernest Ofori Sarpong grandly celebrated his 60th birthday by acquiring a customized 2026 Rolls-Royce Cullinan Mansory, reportedly valued at nearly $1 million, while also unveiling a major educational infrastructure project at his alma mater, Presbyterian Boys’ Senior High School (PRESEC).

The businessman, who is the founder and Chairman of the Special Group of Companies, marked the milestone on Tuesday, May 5, 2026, with a high-profile appearance at the school campus in the luxury vehicle, attracting attention from students, invited guests, and admirers.
However, beyond the display of wealth, the highlight of the occasion was the commissioning of a newly constructed 600-bed ultra-modern dormitory facility for the school.
The two-storey structure, expected to be named “Ofori Sarpong House,” is being described as one of the largest and most modern dormitory projects undertaken by a private individual for a secondary school in Ghana.

The donation adds to the long-standing tradition of old students and prominent Ghanaian entrepreneurs investing in educational development, particularly in prestigious institutions such as PRESEC, which has produced several influential personalities in politics, business, academia, and public service over the years.
Ofori Sarpong was joined at the ceremony by longtime friend and business associate Osei Kwame Despite, alongside school authorities and invited dignitaries who gathered to witness the unveiling of the facility.
His journey into business dates back several decades, beginning with Sarpong Ventures Limited, an import and trading company.
He later expanded into real estate and construction through Special Investments Limited and subsequently diversified into manufacturing and media.
In partnership with Osei Kwame Despite, he co-founded United 2 Company Limited, the parent company behind several major ventures including United Television (UTV), U2 Salt Limited, and Best Point Savings and Loans. His portfolio also includes Special Ice Limited, a mineral water production company operating in Accra and Kumasi.
Over the years, Ofori Sarpong has received multiple recognitions for his contribution to the economic development and entrepreneurship.
He was awarded an honorary Doctor of Philosophy in Law by Barkley University in the United States and was also named Best Manufacturing Entrepreneur in 2013 by the Entrepreneurs Foundation under the auspices of the Ministry of Trade and Industry.
The lavish birthday celebration and philanthropic gesture have generated widespread public discussion, with many praising the businessman for combining personal success with investment in education and youth development.
