Barca-Inter Thriller Ends In 3–3 Draw As Arsenal Fall To PSG In UCL Semi-Finals

Football fans were treated to contrasting semi-final showdowns as Barcelona played out a dramatic 3–3 draw with Inter Milan, while Arsenal suffered a narrow 1–0 defeat to Paris Saint-Germain in the UEFA Champions League semi-final first legs.

In Spain, Barcelona and Inter Milan delivered an intense six-goal thriller at the Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys on Tuesday night. Inter stunned the Catalans early with goals from Marcus Thuram and Denzel Dumfries, but Barça clawed their way back through strikes from teenage sensation Lamine Yamal and Ferran Torres.

Dumfries added a second to restore Inter’s lead before a late Raphinha effort, deflected into the net by goalkeeper Yann Sommer, rescued the draw for Barcelona. The match saw 17-year-old Yamal etch his name in history as the youngest ever scorer in a Champions League semi-final.

“Each game is a battle. We fought back, and now we go to Milan with belief,” said Barça manager Hansi Flick after the match.

Despite the attacking flair, Barcelona’s defensive lapses were on full display. Goalkeeper Wojciech Szczęsny came under heavy criticism, with growing calls for Marc-André ter Stegen to return in the second leg, scheduled for Tuesday, May 6, at the San Siro.

In North London, Arsenal fell short at home, losing 1–0 to PSG at the Emirates Stadium on Wednesday night. Former Barcelona forward Ousmane Dembélé struck in the fourth minute to give the Parisians a vital away win.

Arsenal pushed for an equaliser but were unable to break down PSG’s compact defence. Mikel Merino, speaking after the match, urged fans to keep faith: “We’ve come this far and we’ll give it everything in Paris. One goal won’t stop us.”

The Gunners face a tough task in the return leg at Parc des Princes on Wednesday, May 7, needing at least a two-goal margin to secure a spot in the final.

The 2025 UEFA Champions League Final is set for Saturday, May 31, at the Allianz Arena in Munich, Germany. Kick-off is at 8:00 PM UK time, with live coverage expected on TNT Sports and Amazon Prime Video in the UK.

As both Barcelona and Arsenal prepare for decisive second legs, fans can expect more drama, intensity, and high-stakes action as the road to Munich narrows.
