GIS noted that all detainees have undergone profiling and security screening, consistent with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), to ensure proper identification and safe repatriation.

Humane Treatment and Support Services

The Service further emphasized that the repatriation process is being conducted with strict adherence to international human rights standards. Detainees have been segregated based on gender and age, while the GIS has provided meals and other essential needs.

“A clinic is on standby to provide medical services where necessary,” the statement added.

Continuing Efforts

GIS indicated that further operations may be carried out in the coming days as part of broader efforts to curb illegal migration and related issues, particularly in urban areas where street begging and informal activities by undocumented migrants have become increasingly common.

The Service reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring that Ghana remains a safe and orderly country, in line with immigration laws and international cooperation on migration management.
