NDC debunks ‘fake’ ministerial reshuffle letter, warns against misinformation
The governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) has denied media reports suggesting an imminent government reshuffle, describing the claims as baseless and warning the public against the spread of misinformation.
In a statement issued on Friday, June 6, 2026, the party’s Deputy National Communication Officer, Godwin Ako Gunn, cautioned Ghanaians to disregard the unverified claims circulating on social media and other informal platforms.
According to the NDC, no official communication has been issued regarding any ministerial reshuffle, contrary to speculation gaining traction online.
The party also rejected as fake a letter purported to have originated from the Jubilee House, which allegedly listed dismissed ministers and new appointments. The NDC stressed that the document did not emanate from any legitimate authority and should be treated as a fabrication.
The statement further noted that in an era where misinformation spreads rapidly, some individuals deliberately distort facts to mislead the public and undermine confidence in state institutions.
Warning of possible consequences, the party reminded the public that the dissemination of false information is punishable under Ghana’s Cyber Security Act, and persons found culpable could face legal sanctions.
The NDC therefore urged citizens to exercise caution, verify information before sharing, and rely solely on official and authenticated sources for accurate updates on government affairs.
