Paul Adom-Otchere released after securing revised bail with Jospong Group surety

Former Board Chairman of the Ghana Airports Company Limited (GACL), Paul Adom-Otchere, has been released from the custody of the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) following the successful negotiation and approval of revised bail conditions.

His release came on Friday, August 1, 2025, in the company of former Attorney General Godfred Dame and a legal team. However, sources confirm that Mr. Adom-Otchere has since been recalled by the OSP to complete outstanding administrative processes related to the ongoing investigation.

The OSP confirmed in a statement that the new bail terms, secured after negotiations with his lawyers, satisfy the intent of the initial bail conditions. The Jospong Group of Companies served as surety for the revised bail, stepping in to meet the requirements Mr. Adom-Otchere had previously been unable to fulfil.

“The revised terms, which meet the objectives of the original bail conditions, have been secured by the Jospong Group of Companies,” the OSP stated.

Mr. Adom-Otchere is facing charges linked to a revenue assurance contract allegedly awarded to a private firm without proper Board approval, raising questions about procurement breaches during his tenure at GACL.

He was previously detained after failing to satisfy the initial bail condition, which required sureties backed by landed property—assets he reportedly does not own in Ghana.

The OSP emphasized that the case remains under active investigation, with further legal processes expected in the coming weeks.
