Shatta Wale Released After Meeting Revised EOCO Bail Conditions

Dancehall artiste Charles Nii Armah Mensah, popularly known as Shatta Wale, has been released from the custody of the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) after meeting revised bail conditions.

His lawyer, Cephas Boyuo, confirmed that the initial bail of GH₵10 million was reduced to GH₵5 million with two sureties. As part of the conditions, Shatta Wale is expected to report to EOCO three times a week.

The release follows days of legal proceedings over his alleged failure to provide credible evidence of ownership of a Lamborghini Urus in his possession. EOCO’s statement, issued on Thursday, August 21, 2025, noted that the artiste admitted purchasing the car “from the Street” through an individual known only as “ZAK” via WhatsApp, but could not prove the seller’s identity or provide formal documents such as a sales receipt or transfer papers. The only document available was a customs declaration form in the name of Nana Kwabena Amuah, who is currently serving a prison term.

During the legal tussle, Shatta Wale’s fans gathered outside EOCO’s premises demanding his release. His media manager, Samuel Atuobi Baah (Sammy Flex), assured fans that the legal team and management were working tirelessly to meet the bail conditions.
