The Bono Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kwame Baffoe, popularly known as Abronye DC, is scheduled to reappear before the Accra Circuit Court 9 today, September 12.
This follows his remand into police custody on Wednesday, September 9, after making his first court appearance following his arrest on Monday.
The Ghana Police Service confirmed that the outspoken politician was arrested on charges of “offensive conduct conducive to the breach of the peace.”
The legal case comes in the wake of reports that Abronye DC had sought political asylum in eight countries — Côte d’Ivoire, the United States, France, Italy, Canada, Spain, the United Kingdom, and Germany — citing threats to his safety and alleged political persecution.
