The Minister for Transport, Joseph Nikpe Bukari, has announced that the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA) has successfully cleared a backlog of more than 440,000 unprinted driver’s licence cards.
Speaking on efforts to improve DVLA’s service delivery, the Minister disclosed that as of December 2024, there were 440,000 pending licence cards yet to be printed, a challenge that has now been fully resolved.
“As at December 2024, the DVLA had a backlog of 440,000 unprinted driver licence cards. Currently, all those backlog cards have been printed and dispatched to the various DVLA offices for collection,” he confirmed.
He further revealed that an additional 26,045 cards are undergoing the final lamination process and will soon be ready for distribution.
“A total of 26,045 cards are currently undergoing lamination and will be delivered shortly,” he stated.
