2026 WCQ: Fatawu Issahaku returns to Black Stars starting XI against CAR

Black Stars head coach Otto Addo has welcomed back winger Abdul Fatawu Issahaku into the starting lineup as Ghana faces the Central African Republic (CAR) in their Matchday 9 clash of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
The Leicester City forward makes his return after recovering from a cruciate ligament injury, providing a major boost to Ghana’s attack as the team seeks to book an early ticket to next year’s World Cup to be held in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
The match is being played at Morocco’s Stade d’Honneur, where the Black Stars are hoping to maintain their strong qualifying run.
Otto Addo has entrusted Benjamin Asare with the goalkeeping duties, while Caleb Yirenkyi, Gideon Mensah, Salisu Mohammed, and Alexander Djiku form the defensive backline.
In midfield, Thomas Partey will once again anchor play alongside Kwasi Sibo, while the creative force will be provided by Mohammed Kudus, Antoine Semenyo, and Fatawu Issahaku, who will support captain Jordan Ayew leading the attack.
