Ghana’s Deputy Minister for Transport, Hon. Dorcas Affo-Toffey, alongside MMT officials, have inspected brand-new ISUZU buses in Egypt before they are delivered.
The 300 buses are being purchased to significantly expand and strengthen the fleet of Metro Mass Transit (MMT), the state-owned public transport operator.
The introduction of these new buses is expected to boost fleet capacity and modernize public transport services in Ghana.
It will also reduce overcrowding and waiting times for commuters on major routes and also improve reliability, service coverage, and commuter experience overall.
The inspection of the buses by the Deputy Minister highlights government commitment to upgrading public transportation infrastructure.
