The Attorney General of the Federation in Nigeria has formally dropped all criminal proceedings against Sam Jonah and three people in connection with a dispute over the River Park Estate in Abuja.
After reviewing the evidence from the police investigations, the Attorney General’s office have concluded that evidence provided did not meet the legal threshold to establish a prima facie case of forgery, fraud or other alleged offenses against Jonah and the co-accused.
As a result of the Attorney General’s decision, criminal charges (Charge No. CR/402/25) have been dropped, ending the threat of prosecution.
The Attorney General’s position also endorsed findings from a Special Investigation Panel and criticized aspects of the police’s handling of the case, including public presentations of suspects before judicial determination.
The Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) have been directed by the Attorney General to reverse any actions it took against the Ghanaian business leader’s Nigeria-based companies on the basis of the withdrawn criminal case.
This development comes after months of contention, including legal action and diplomatic engagement by Jonah and support from Ghana’s government — over control of the River Park Estate development.
