George Ennin was on his way to his security job in the afternoon, when he was stabbed multiple times in an unprovoked attack near 3077 Third Avenue in New York by a complete stranger.
George, who lives in the Melrose area of the Bronx, was rushed to Lincoln Hospital, but sadly the father of two teenage daughters did not survive his injuries.
Local Police arrested Sean Jones, a Bronx resident, who has since been charged with murder, manslaughter, and criminal possession of a weapon in connection with the fatal stabbing.
Authorities say the attack appeared to be random and without any known connection between the 38-year-old suspect, who has a lengthy criminal history with multiple prior arrests and George Ennin.
Neighbours and friends have described the 53-year-old as a hard-working, devoted father who raised his daughters “single-handedly” and was well liked in the community.
