The final funeral rites and burial arrangements of the late Ayawaso East Member of Parliament, Naser Toure Mahama, are set to take place today, Monday, 5 January 2026.
In line with Islamic tradition, a Janazah (funeral) prayer will be held this morning at 10:00 a.m. at the Ayawaso East Constituency Office along the Kanda Highway (Nima–Kanda).
The prayer session is expected to be led by the National Chief Imam.
After the funeral prayers, his body will be taken to the Madina Cemetery for burial.
Naser Toure Mahama died on 4 January 2026 after a short illness at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital in Accra.
He was a long-serving MP for Ayawaso East Constituency on the ticket of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
This funeral is being closely watched by his constituents, political colleagues and community as tributes continue to pour in.
