Gloria Kafui Hiadzi, the Executive Secretary of the Ghana Independent Broadcasters Association (GIBA), passed away on Wednesday, 24 December 2025 (Christmas Eve) in what GIBA, the umbrella body representing private radio and television broadcasters in Ghana as a “short illness.”
Her death was confirmed by her association, GIBA, in a social media statement shared 2 days after her passing, expressing deep sorrow at her demise.
Boards she served on include the Private Enterprises Federation and the Office of the Registrar of Companies, she was also respected for her contributions to the media industry.
In announcements mourning her death, GIBA and media stakeholders have emphasized her dedication to strengthening Ghana’s independent broadcasting sector. Tributes have noted her role in advocacy, stakeholder engagement, and institutional development within the media landscape.
The family and GIBA have asked the public and media fraternity to keep the bereaved family in their prayers and to respect their privacy during this difficult time. Funeral and memorial arrangements will be announced when finalized.
