A wave of anxiety and confusion swept through Mamprobi Polyclinic on Tuesday after reports emerged that a newborn baby had allegedly vanished shortly after birth.
The child was reportedly delivered through a Caesarean section when, under circumstances yet to be fully explained, a woman believed to have impersonated a nurse allegedly walked out of the health facility with the baby.
The suspected abduction triggered chaotic scenes at the polyclinic, as the baby’s father and other relatives confronted hospital officials, demanding immediate explanations.
In videos circulating widely on social media, the distraught father is seen insisting that CCTV footage be reviewed and released to help identify and track down the suspect.

Sources indicate that the facility’s surveillance cameras may have captured clear images of the woman believed to be involved, raising hopes that investigators will be able to trace her movements.
The alleged disappearance sparked fear and emotional distress among patients and staff, with family members pressing health workers for answers about how such an incident could occur within the facility.
The case has since been reported to the Ghana Police Service, which has launched investigations to establish the facts and locate the missing child.
As of the time of reporting, management of the Mamprobi Polyclinic has not issued an official statement on the incident, leaving many questions unanswered as investigations continue.
