Legon Sports Stadium, which also go by the name “University of Ghana Sports Stadium” in Accra has been confirmed as the venue for upcoming international boxing event.
The high-profile international boxing event will take place on Saturday, 20 December 2025 between two British light-heavyweight contenders.
The headline fight between Craig “Spider” Richards vs Dan “Super” Azeez is being co-promoted by Legacy Rise Sports and Matchroom Boxing, and it will be broadcast live on DAZN worldwide.
The show also features Ghanaian boxing talent on the undercard alongside international fighters, making it one of the biggest boxing spectacles hosted in Ghana in recent years. The card will feature Freezy Macbones and 2023 African Games bronze medalist Theophilus Allotey
Legacy Rise Sports CEO Sharaf Mahama has explained that the Legon Sports Stadium’s large capacity was a major factor in the decision in choosing the stadium.
The Legon Sports Stadium is said to accommodate around 17,000 spectators, compared to 5,000 at the Bukom Boxing Arena.
He expressed excitement for the event, assuring fans that all fighters on the card are prepared to deliver memorable performances.
